Biography
SARAH TREVISAN
Born in Washington, DC
Lives & works in Bethesda, MD
Sarah has been creating art since childhood. She has exhibited work in many different venues and craft shows.
The hand painted pepper mills were the foundation for her business, Sarah Studios, which eventually included children’s hair accessories and other handmade goods.
Inspiration stems from Renaissance artists Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo who were both master draftsmen and creative geniuses. Vincent Van Gogh is another inspiration of Sarah’s, especially as she relates to his struggle with mental health.
Skilled in a wide variety of media, Sarah enjoys acrylic paint, pen and ink, colored pencil, and markers. She enjoys painting realistically as a challenge, while her abstract work is a way to express parts of her psyche that she is unable to articulate.
Drawing and painting are her favorite therapeutic coping skills.
Sarah is passionate about helping others along her journey of self-discovery and truth seeking. Her coloring book series, Mindful Moments, includes very intense and emotional abstract hand drawn patterns. The books were designed to give others a quiet place for reflection and outlet for creativity.
Art making is Sarah's true passion, and she enjoys being active in the community by exhibiting and selling her work.
